Okay it's been a while since I last wrote on this thing, I'll admit it was both laziness and a lack of something to write about that has kept me from it. But I've found something so here you go :P
In general I've noticed a sharp decline in manners, politeness, and general human decency towards our fellow man. The concept of saying "please" and "thank you" is no longer a common thought for someone when a kind deed has been done for them, or when looking for help from another person. Patience also seems to be gone too. In this modern world where we're told we have to be in a rush, we've now lost our respect for each other and stopped caring.
An example for you: Recently I was at a shop, and I was at the front of the line at the counter. I had my stuff that I wanted to buy on the countertop, and the guy behind the counter was getting something for me. Then this other guy who had been in the que behind me comes up to where I'm still waiting and puts all his stuff on top of mine, as if I'm not there...
I don't know about you, but for me that is annoying. If somehow that guy is now reading this blog I can tell you that I wasn't going to take long, and that because you were in the que in the 1st place, you were definately going to be served soon. If there was a fire or some emergency in the shop, you would not be thinking about skipping the que, you'd be trying to get out of the building. So this example proves how the modern day person has lost basic manners, patience and politeness. And I'm sure you would have your own examples of this happening to you too in your life. If you want you can leave them in my comment box.
Now this is simple and straight forward, if you can change one thing about yourself, then change the way you treat the other people you meet in life. If you ask for something, say "please" (it won't kill you to do that) and when you get it say "thank you" or "thanks" (and even if you don't get what you asked for say thanks anyways because they could have tried their best to do what you asked).

Knitting
Hi everyone, I've been giving a great oppourtunity by the Lord to have some of my knitting sold in 2 shops in Limerick.
But I need to think of a name for a brand or to put on the label. So I'm putting it out to the public. I'm asking for any ideas for a name for the knitting I make.
Cheers guys;)

Men
I was recently watching that "How long will you live?" show on RTE (I had nothing better to do). And it got me thinking about the life span difference between men and women. The gap is now at a staggering 15 years. Men are dying in their 70's, while women are getting into their 80's before they pop their clogs.
Men are more likely to suffer from heart attacks, strokes, ulcers, and liver failure. Men are like 3 times more likely to die in an accident.
Men are more likely to carry STD's (Which they then give to their unsuspecting wives/girlfriends), As it ages the male mind shrinks at a faster rate than a womans, and a guys major body systems- like the respiratory, circulatory, digestive and excretory systems- all break down before a girls would. Men can't give birth, and now with sperm banks and artificial insemination and adoption, they're involvement is minimal. And then it's a proven fact that men are 4 times more likely to commit sucicide, and the young males are the most likely to kill themselves in Ireland.
And then girls do better then lads at school, with girls getting the higher leaving cert results.
So from all of that, all I can say is thank God I have 2 x chromosomes!:L
(P.s. Sorry for all this bad news to my xy chromosomed friends...:P;))

Driving
I'm going to take my driver theory test tomorrow, and to be honest, I'm a lil nervous. So on Tuesday, I was at home, infront of the computer, cramming for the test. Mum had the news on, and I heard one of the most ridiculous things. The government wants to add MORE restrictions on learner drivers and those who have just passed the full test.
Already a learner driver must have a fully licenced driver in the car all the time, and then a learner can only be on a provisional licence for 2 years maximum.
Now the government want to add in a rule on the amount of passengers a learner driver can carry, they want to add a curfew, make it that you cannot have certain cars that have big engines, and also a zero tolerence to alcohol.
I don't mind the zero tolerence to alcohol, that I think is a brilliant idea. And the 2 years max is good too, as is having a licenced driver. But the rest of it seems rather pointless. The curfew isn't gonna make learning how to drive any easier, neither is restricting the engine size, limiting the amount of passengers is pointless.
If anything all this does is make the idea of driving more daunting for learners, and soon people will probably just not want to take the test.
All I know is that if I don't pass the test tomorrow... I'm taking the bus...

America
I've done alot of thinking recently, and looking at American t.v and looking at what people have talked to me about... America is a really scary place. Look at the facts:In an American supermarket, the biggest area is the frozen food area, and the smallest is the fresh food section. In American schools, everything is sponsored by a company, like Pepsi. It's been found out that most can't tell the difference of countries in Europe, 64% couldn't tell the UK, most thought Europe was one big country, and and almost 70% of kids at 16 years old couldn't tell you any other state than their own on a map of the states that has no names on it. Working in America is pretty scary too... Poor pay, crap hours, practicaly no benifits, and in some cases when you die, the company you worked for gets money from your will. The politics are corrupted too, no one needs me to remind them about George Bush Jr. And the media and government are in cahoots with each other in leading the people with fear and lies. And when a government lead by fear, then it's no longer a Democracy, its a dictatorship. The best thing so far is that people have now elected Obama in.As for the health system, well I look at it and nearly want to congradulate Mary Harney for a brilliant job! Seeing how it works in the states, it's not a health service, it's a potluck for anyone to get better! And its only for those with a shed load of cash that can get anything decent that could help. This is just all general observation on my half, if you disagree you can tell me, I greatly value anyones opinion;)
Dang it!
Stupid msn... well i guess I should explain, my msn got a virus, and it wouldn't let me login, so now I've got a new account, which has gotten rid of my blogger account too... grr... I know I hadn't alot written on it, but still it's annoying.
Modern technology my arse....
